Mrs Salisbury’s Famous Tea Rooms is a very busy, family run and independent tea room/café based in Maldon High Street. We offer breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and the occasional pop up event.

We’ve got an exciting position for a Party Chef to be a crucial member in our busy and top rated restaurant based in Maldon. Featuring day time hours with just one or two evenings a month, you will be working alongside the team to help prepare afternoon teas and sweet treats. Including the cakes for Front of house and the afternoon tea sandwiches, baking scones and other front of house cakes.
We get very very busy (especially when our bookings all sit down in the afternoon) so naturally we’re looking for a candidate who isn’t too flustered in a busy kitchen and can crack on and deliver great quality food.
You will be working in tandem with our other Afternoon Tea Chef.
We’ve been on the scene for 10 years now and have gone from a little tea room that held just 18 covers to being a staple in the Maldon community and seating up to 200 covers at any one time! We’re a family run, independent business but that doesn’t mean we’re inefficient or small by any means. We’re keen to offer training and courses where necessary, and there is potential for role growth as the business evolves.
The hourly rate would be £12 / hour. Of course you’ll be a part of our tip scheme (known as tronc) which is shared equally between all staff. This is currently averaging between £2-£2.80 per hour. You would also have the opportunity to claim open shifts too should you want some more hours.
