Looking for a charming and intimate setting for your next celebration? At Mrs Salisbury’s Tea Rooms in Essex we offer private and semi-private afternoon tea bookings during our regular opening hours.

How many can we accommodate?

We offer a range of charming private and semi-private spaces across all of our tea rooms.

Maldon High Street (Private): 
Our upstairs private rooms can accommodate up to 22 guests, while our cosy downstairs spaces are ideal for smaller groups of up to 12 guests. The minimum number of guests for a private space is 9 guests.

Wickham Bishops & Coggeshall (Semi-private): 
Both venues offer semi-private spaces for large groups. In Wickham Bishops we can seat up to 16 guests and in Coggeshall up to 30.

What does the private hire include and how much does it cost?

Our private afternoon tea package is priced at £29.65 per person, including a 10% service charge.

Each guest will enjoy our full traditional afternoon tea experience, featuring a delicious selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam, and a variety of cakes and sweet treats, all served with unlimited premium loose-leaf teas and americano coffee.

For our little guests, we offer a Children’s Afternoon Tea at £17.55 per child (including a 10% service charge).

Booking details

To secure your private afternoon tea booking, we take £5 deposit per person, which the remaining balance due 7 days before your booking. Although we require full payment in advance of your booking, there is no additional room hire fee, so you can enjoy exclusive use of your space without any hidden costs.

Private bookings take place during our regular opening hours, with larger group bookings typically scheduled from 3pm onwards. You will get a generous two and a half hours at your table, giving you plenty of time to relax and enjoy the experience.
