Founded in 2014, Mrs Salisbury's optimises the Great British tea room. Our tea room is proudly situated in the blue plaque dwelling of the late Edward Bright, The Fat Man of Maldon. Occupying Rose Cottage at the rear of Church House, our quaint tea room oozes charm and character, with seating over two floors and an idyllic courtyard. Whether dining inside on a cosy winters day or outside in Brights Path, we offer a service like no other in Maldon.
Opened by Mrs Salisbury and her husband in 2014, we're proud to be a family run independent business based in Maldon, Essex. With over fifty years experience in the industry, we've refined our service into this tea room and it's where we want to expand and grow. We specialise in breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea & cakes, and our recently launched serviced apartments.
In March 2014 we opened our doors for the first time to the people of Maldon to great success.

As we became more established, our team expanded both in the kitchen & front of house.
Our first ‘Bistro Evening’
2018 is the year of special events at Mrs Salisbury's. February saw our first bistro evening which sold out in just 2 days. Serving a three course dinner with fab wines, the night was a great success. With March and April sold out, we may need to expand again!
Introducing ‘The Drawing Room’

The tickets sold out so quickly that we had to add an extra showing.
Our annual charity event raised over £2000 for Cancer Research UK, a charity close to our hearts.
The Murder of Mrs Salisbury
Our event calendar took on a scary twist in October.
Guests enjoyed a three course roast dinner banquet as they tried to discover who murdered Mrs Salisbury in our first murder mystery evening.
The Winter Igloo
Christmas is our favourite time of the year. Brights Path is transformed into a winter wonderland.
We took inspiration from the big city as we assembled our Winter Igloo in the pathway. Guests can wrap up and enjoy bottomless brunch & our festive afternoon tea in our cosy outdoor igloo!
