Established 2014

In March 2014 we opened our doors for the first time to the people of Maldon to great success.

may 2016, The number one tea room in Essex

Thanks to our glowing reviews on TripAdvisor from our satisfied customers, we are currently the number one tea room in Essex.

December 2016, time to grow!

As we became more popular, we moved our kitchen into the building next door. Our old kitchen was converted to the Bar Room, with additional seating added to accommodate our growing customer base. Our Front of House & Kitchen Teams expanded, creating local jobs and one amazing team.

February 2018, anyone for dinner?

The first of our monthly Bistro Evening events. Guest enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner in a quaint candelit atmosphere. The first of many great evenings at Mrs Salisbury’s!

march 2018, introducing ‘the drawing room’

We open our new dining room ‘The Drawing Room’ as a private dining room for breakfast meetings, lunch groups and afternoon tea parties. The room also serves as overflow seating for the queues of guests over lunchtime.

Summer 2018, the summer of fun!

We hosted some amazing events, including our Royal Wedding Street Party, Summer Sizzler Barbecue Evening & our annual Outdoor Cinema Night.

Winter 2018, the winter igloo

Christmas is our favourite time of the year. Bright’s Path is transformed into an award winning winter wonderland.

We took inspiration from the big city as we assembled our Winter Igloo in the pathway. Guests wrapped up warm and enjoyed bottomless brunch & our festive afternoon tea in our cosy outdoor igloo!

spring & summer 2019, doing our thing!

You name it, we did it! Bistro Evenings, BBQ & Tapas evenings, 2 outdoor cinema nights! All on top of serving our wonderful guests beautiful breakfasts, luscious lunches & mouth-watering afternoon teas in our tea rooms & courtyard.

Winter 2019, the place to be!

As our courtyard closed, our tea room was bustling. We hosted cosy bistro evenings and launched our Christmas installation. Our Winter Ski Gondolas sat proudly in between a path full of real Christmas trees. Guests enjoyed private dining experiences like no other around. We served a record number of Festive Afternoon Teas and were ready for our annual Christmas shut down.

spring 2020, a flying start

We were off to a flying start in 2020 until we closed our doors for the Coronavirus pandemic. We started an Afternoon Tea delivery service on weekends and rested during the week!

summer 2020, going mobile!

The lockdown made us think on our feet, think out of the box (and tea room). We launch ‘Mrs Salisbury’s in the park’ in Maldon’s renowned Promenade Park. Serving delicious coffees, treats & afternoon tea picnic baskets.

Our Nationwide afternoon tea hamper service goes live. The whole of the UK can enjoy our delectable Afternoon Tea from their homes, delivered in temperature-controlled packaging. The perfect gift!

December 2020, We moved!

After a productive lockdown we have moved our entire tea room to our new bigger building next door! (still located in Bright’s Path) With 3 of our 5 new rooms open and heated outdoor seating in our new secret courtyard.

September 2021, a fresh new look.

Our observatory room reopened with a fresh new look, featuring 13 unique prints and pink walls you’ll fall in love with.

October 2021, new rooms!

Introducing The Circus Room and The Wild Room – two brand new upstairs dining areas we opened up and used throughout the winter & rainy days. These new rooms have significantly reduce the waiting times for a table!
